Wow, how has the Internet not impacted my life? I do just about everything online—I do homework, read news, shop for clothes, download music, order groceries, upload photos, chat with friends, store my documents, call my boyfriend. I’m on the Internet for 4 hours straight when I go to work (in a computer lab). I’m pretty much your standard Internet junkie. Most aspects of my life are intertwined with Internet-use. My mom made a comment the other day about how much harder things were for her as a kid, when they didn’t have the Web. Boo hoo, mom. Technology changes, and we all adapt to it without even thinking about it. I didn’t make a conscious decision to start doing everything online. It just happened that way, because it’s easier and more efficient. It helps me get everything done on time. Sure, I would still be able to function if it had never come into existence. But now that I have it, it seems like it would be pretty hard to live without. I wouldn’t be able to keep up an overseas relationship, that’s for sure. So next time Collie criticizes me for spending too much time online, I’m going to remind him he should be appreciating the Web, not hating on it! Because it’s really the only way we have of being together right now…
